Einstein published about special relativity in 1905. Ten years later, he offered a more complete picture when he generalized relativity and unified it with Newton’s law of gravitation. Einstein’s general theory of relativity defined gravity as the warping of space-time. In November of 1915, Einstein presented his ideas to the Prussian Academy of Science, using his field equations to show that matter and energy affect the very geometry of space-time by making it curve.
