The Nature of Time - Atomic Clocks and Relativity
Even is time is relative, we still want to measure it as accurately as we can. There are a large number of certain atomic clocks around the world. These represent the best efforts of mankind to measure time objectively - by using something as precise as the bouncing of electrons between energy states in a cesium-133 atom. A “second” is now defined (and has been since 1967) as 9,192,631,770 of these cesium electron vibrations.
