Was Nimrod a Nephilim?
It is interesting to note that Genesis 10:9 states that Nimrod “ began to be a mighty one in the earth.” “Mighty one” is translated from Hebrew gibbowr or gibborim, which is used to describe the Nephilim giants in genesis 6 who were also “mighty men” (Genesis 6:4) and the giant Goliath (1 Samuel 17:51). Gibborim was also used in the Bible to describe the human men:
